Partisan idiots. He was talking about race, not healthcare or wars in arabia. It was a great speech regardless of political ideology. In 2004 at the Republican National convention G.W.Bush gave an excellent speech about America. I am a proud liberal but that speech by Bush, my assigned enemy, gave me a "thrill up my leg". Don't be such dipshits. If you're going to quarrel like little children at least do it over something meaningful.

this was not his most important speech of his career. his key note speech at the dnc in '04 was his most important. he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that.

Cool feelings. I'm comfortable with this guy. I don't think we need to talk about race. I think everyone has a sense of it and we can find more productive issues to discuss, like the war in Iraq, economy, etc. Our quiet challenge should be to work out our prejudices and to avoid projecting them onto our children. The next generation will hopefully not need to carry this burden, but it will require fixing all our schools, which is where hope lives.
