Set within Snowdonia national park in north Wales, The Ogwen waterfall, or Rhaeadr Ogwen in welsh, is created by the overflows from Lake Idwal, and Lake Ogwen.
Interestingly on their way to the falls the water from Lake Ogwen passes beneath an old roman bridge, which is nestling beneath a newer bridge, which carries the main A5 road.
From the falls the river flows on in a north, north westerly direction down to the Nant Francon Valley. As it continues on its course the Ogwen runs alongside the villages of Bethesda, Tregarth, and Tal-y-Bont before arriving at the Menai Strait near Bangor.
