Just wondering what your temps are like at idle/load because I'm planning on getting the i7 920 and want to overclock to 3.8 and 4.0 would be even better so I was wondering what kind of temps you get with that cooler. Thanks a bunch.

I was already over my budget so i stayed with the 1333mhz. And the 5870 is out of stock everywhere in France. i was originally going to get a 5970. I'm going to upgrade later next year.
What settings do you use though?

Looks real nice, what are you getting for fps? Why did you go with the i7 920 after having the i5 750? I'm debating between the two right now. Also do you have any of the service packs installed or acceleration? Awesome setup!

@Sprebound If for gaming, go for the i5-750, I went with the 920 just because I had the oppourtunity to upgrade for no cost. FPS is high enough to have a smooth flight regardless where I am or what I fly in.
Service packs 1 and 2 are a must. Acceleration comes with those as well.

@uberwagn I also have the 5870 now and it is WORLDS better than the 4890.

@uberwagn I'm not really into pc "gaming" anymore as that is what I use my Xbox360 for. The only program that I want to run as good as possible is FSX. To put it into perspective - I am running an Opteron 180 setup right now, its time to upgrade. Did you set a frame rate limit in FSX? I'm at 23-30fps with almost no scenery and no traffic. The graphics are turned way up so it still looks nice, not much for realistic scenery though. TrackIR barely runs alongside it...

@Sprebound - You won't notice a difference between the i5-750 and i7-920 in FSX or any games for that matter.

Hey,
I ordered parts for my gaming PC (coming on Wednesday, right b4 xmas :D)
The specs are :
Intel Core i7
2 Sapphire ATi Radeon HD4890 (The second one is for Crysis and MW2)
6GB DDR3 1333MhZ ram
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard
2 500GB 7200RPM hard drives
I'm planning to overclock my processor to between 3.6GhZ and 4.0GhZ
Will FSX run like this on my computer? Thanks

Should have gotten DDR3 1600 if you were going to overclock - Doesn't really matter anyway but I would suggest it.
Why not the 5870? same price as 2 4890's
And yes, you should be getting around the same performance after tweaking fsx settings.
