This sort of things probably wouldnt even happen if RP was president: free trade (without the WTO), would increase prosperity and decrease ethnic warfare (Darfur);as of now, weapons corps from countriesincluding the US take part in funding the Darfur conflict;Lastly the current admin has an imperial policy framed to "help" countries (killing 100000s), yet even they won't touch Darfur under international support for intervention -- governments don't invade if the reason is "humanitarian"
Actually, America did not intervene to save the Jews-- we knew what was going on, but didn't get involved until we were directly attacked at Pearl Harbor, even though Britain had been begging us to help them for years. We also waited a while to get involved in World War I. We took on a new role after World War II of "police force of the world." We've been in pretty much constant war since then, somewhere.
I believe FDR did not intervene until the Germans declared war on the US. First Pearl Harbor, we declare war on Japan, Germany declares war on US. While Hitler was taking over europe many americans were happy to sit back.
I love Ron Paul, but noninterventionism on humanitarian missions is a little extreme. If FDR made a "moral statement", millions of more Jews would STILL be dead.
EXCELLENT! So happy to hear it. You know mjjrupp, Perot came up in a thread just the other day... we both were voting for him and dissapointed he didn't finish the race. We both also commented on how different Dr. Paul is in that he's got 20 years of proven stick-to-itiveness, I am confident in my candidate this time. And like you I put my money where my post/comment/video/mouth is :-) Dr. Paul for Prez!
Just today I registered to vote for the first time since Pero ran. I had been so disgusted with the past Republicans and I could not vote with a clear conscience until now! I will be donating to Ron Paul's campaign.
We can :-) Your individual support online is great but as you probably know today is an age of advertising and Dr. Paul is not being taken seriously because mainstream media thinks his supporter are all 'virtual' we need to send in money and do so prior to July 1st as a critical GOP decision is made at that time to clear out the deadwood and narrow the candidates. Please help. Send a donation today. :-)
