@richygambs321 If there are three dashes, than there will be the ball, if there is not the ball, the computer won't follow the flight plan but the heading given by the pilots

@richygambs321 I think here, the pilot pre-selected the heading but the computer was still following the flight plan (with the dot) and at 3:56, he pulls the heading selector, the computer no longer follows the flight plan but the heading of 220 (which is already the heading followed by the computer).

@hyrrokinfamily but if it is managed by the computer and will automatically follow the flight plan route, then shouldnt there be only 3 dashes and no ball?

@gaspeli Because with Frankfurt, you have what you call transitions. So it leads the pilot down to the IAF for the ILS Approach. And the APPROACH controller directs aircraft, not the Tower controller. In most cases.
