dear friend sain Mushtaq the singer is playing "chimta" the person next to him in blue is playing "King" this instrument typically made in old days with dried hallow "KaduuN" (cabbage) but now days if anyone does make this they use silver pot and name of "King" for this instrument i think mostly use in Gujrat Punjab area. in other part i think they call it "Dhad" construction material is slightly different i.e use mango tree, mulberry or sheesham. The head is covered with goatskin.

what?? that makes no sense to me...the instrument the blue guy is playing looks like a tumba...with the one long string and u play it with two hands...i know hes playing a chimta and someone on the side is playing the dholki along with the khara but i still cant see the king??

tumbi is recent invention and was perfected by yamla jatt the person in blue is playing king as i told you before all these folk instruments have many variation from one part to other i've been to many of these gatherings and we call it king tumbi, dhad, king, all of them from same family

@sculpt1000 king is the tumbi. this can be the whole instrument where as 'king' is the actual metalic string. The string can be pulled across anything and called king. The pakistani tumbi is different in make and sound.
