Former choirboys of the Regensburger Domspatzen have told SPIEGEL about sexual and physical abuse at two boarding schools attached to the famous Catholic choir. One former choirboy says it's "inexplicable" that the Pope's brother Georg Ratzinger, a former head of the choir, didn't know about it.

This has been going on for many, many years ~less now of course ~since the bastards are aware that the truth eventually leaks out. I am so PLEASED that I left the Catholic church! It's totally unnatural that Catholic priests aren't allowed to marry ~invariably, priests are sexually &/or mentally screwed-up! Most that I've encountered are closet gays. Why not just allow them to be open about their sexuality? But for GOD's SAKE, leave innocent children ALONE!

This happened and happens all around the world and has been covered up by the Catholic Church. The last evidence is confirmed in Ireland. It is a traumatic experience for these kids and most of them are only able to talk being adults when they are suffering from the aftermath of this corrosive experience in their current relationships. It is nothing to paper over. It is a systemic cancer in the Catholic Church, may be in others as well?!

By the way, in an interesting side issue, the papal nuncio was asked to appear before an Irish committee on foreign affairs to talk about this problem. He haughtily replied that it was "not the practice of the Holy See that Apostolic Nuncios appear before Parliamentary Commissions", which is rather interesting. The Vatican has a rather interesting status as a sovereign, independent state with membership in the UN, and pretends to be a participating nation in the world community of states.

Who knew the whole Catholic church was infested with free-lovin' hippies and godless agnostics and atheists? The way he'll fix the problem is by calling for "a deeper theological reflection" on child buggery. I really don't think it takes much deep thought to see that causing harm to children trusted to your care is a bad idea.
