George performed this in his NEC solo Recital on June 11, 2009.

George has had a great success in his recital concert yesterday. Williams Hall was completely packed with warm hearted music lovers - teachers and friends, and they gave George a standing ovation as encouragement.

We are extremely grateful to George's Piano Teacher Ms. Byun, George's music mentor Maestro Churchill, George's guardian angel Ms. Cathy Chen, Piano Department Chair Ms. Roth, Chamber Music coach Ms. Blustein, Music Theory Chair Mr. Larry Bell, Conductor Maestro Zander, Piano Seminar Teacher Mr. Rivera, and all the great teachers in the Prep School of New England Conservatory.

We would also like to thank Mrs. Dorothy Shi and Mr. Chengzong Yin, who have built a strong solid piano foundation for George.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to George's Mother-Music-School -- The Prep School of NEC, where he acquires all his music knowledge and where he received careful nurture toward a young piano artist.

We thank all of those who attended the concert - your appearance has been the great honor of the Li family!

  • Technically, practically perfect. I wonder if you can't be a bit more lyrical - it sounds excessively choppy in parts. For example, the LH which sets the polonaise rhythm I would consider more in a 1-bar phrase with slightly more legato. The contrast in tempo between the lyrical parts (e.g. the C minor part) compared to the faster parts (e.g. the beginning) seems excessive to me. (cont'd...)

  • You are the next Barenboim. I hope to see you in the future playing with the best orchestras, because you will, sooner or later.

  • funny interpretation

  • lol! Are your fingers insured George? ('omguanyin' = funny) A pleasure as always!!

  • the sound is somewhat harsh and hides the quality of the playing, which in itself is admirable//

  • Damn what are you 12 yrs old thats impressive

  • Good work, George. You are clearly extremely dexterous. Now go and play outside a bit and enjoy being a child. If you decide it of your own accord, you can be a brilliant pianist.

  • give me your fingers or i kill you =(

  • speechless!

  • I like this previous version more than your playing this piece recently.
