If you're looking for a nice day on a gorgeous lake, Canyon Lake is 42 miles northeast of the Chandler area and about 26 miles from east Mesa. Nestled in the Superstition Mountains between Saguaro and Apache Lakes, this beautiful canyon lake is truly one of the more scenic lakes in the metro Phoenix area. There are many little side coves to hang out and fish and enjoy the cool water. Take the trip all the way back to the end. It's gorgeous back in there! If you're someone who likes to camp, there are many places worthy of an overnight stay.
