@TeacherInVa The only thing I could really guess is that he was somehow pinned (after death) to piece of farm equipment (perhaps a cutting vice) as a way of shaming him. It's so dark it's difficult to tell. Sally just happens to pass by it as his torso gives out from hanging and dislodges from the body. Yuck.
