@ravernoid The Giver died. When someone who holds memories dies, memories are released into elsewhere and the community. The Giver kept the music to himself and shared with nobody. But Jonas was okay, or so I believe.

@meza5renitec it says he heard music or it was an echo and before that they said he felt energy and all the memories came to him and that he felt warmth when he was close to the top so i thinnk he probably fainted or died so he thought he reached elsewhere.Why dot they tell you what happened

Jonas dose not die people he runs away on his dad's bike with the baby Gabriel then he comes across one of his memorys he gets on the sled with the baby and it ends once the reach the bottom of the hill...
A GREAT READ I LOVED IT TRULY AND HONESTLY THERE IS NO BOOK THAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT MUCH AND MAKES YOU SO SUSPENDED I FINISHED THE BOOK IN 1 DAY THAT'S HOW MUCH I LOVED IT I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN

Jonas escaped...he like sled down that hill and met that family and then he found out it was Christmas.
I just wonder what the author's stance on contraception and abortion is due to her writing of "releasing" babies. No, I kid, I kid...
The Giver is a treasure to the art of modern civilization. Provocative and heart-wrenching, it is really a novel for all ages.
