I used to play heel toe until I went to a Steve Gadd clinic and he was showing heel toe and slide, and I thought slide was the coolest (and simplest) to uses. I personally like the first note of the double to be a little quieter because it adds a mini crescendo to whatever comes right after.

me hell toe on single flat foot on double

@mindfreakerry One thing you can do is loosen the spring tension. Also, no quality pedal is going to make it difficult to even make one stroke. If you pedal is THAT stiff, I'd recommend going to your local music store and checking out new pedals.

I'll appreciate if anyone could help me. My pedal seems to be very stiff, like it has a lot of tension in it. I have to use a lot of effort to even do a single kick, compared to what i see in the video, where only a slight touch with force from the ankle is required to hit the beater onto the drum. For me I have to use strength from even my calf just to do one kick. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to modify my pedal? thx alot in advance

i do everything heels down, even double pedal, but when i use slide technique. although it seems to be a hybrid between heel toe and slide...

Just tried slide technique for the first time, It was easy to to though felt a little qwerky since I've never done it before especially for my left foot

I feel I have the heel-toe technique down pretty well on my right foot, not so much with my left. Now I wanna learn how to do the slide tech.

@boobsmakemehappy1 if you can do slide technique on both feet, then your really, extremely super good. How bout you make a video and show us?
-
@joshuachan56 Yeah, that makes sense. I like wearing socks so I can do it on both feet and use it to do uber fast rolls.
-
@boobsmakemehappy1 True. But for me, i prefer to wear shoes as i have more control than wearing socks. Socks is too slippery for me :P
Can you do a tutorial on the Swivel Technique? thanks! :)

I tend to do this thing where my foot stays in the middle of the footboard, but I slide to the right a bit to catch it on its way back up.
