Texas' Absu puts together an intense combination of black metal and thrash on its latest album, Abzu.

What do you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?

  • I think you should talk about the lyrics too. They're awesome, but you don't mention it.

  • I really have to disagree on your opinion of the drum sounds, especially since you're comparing it to TARA. Now, I'm being very very bias here since I've loved that album since it came out. However, the drumming production on TARA shits all over this album by a colossal mile. One song from that album Vs all the songs from this album, she cries the quiet lake. An absolute masterstroke in drum production and composition.

  • This is a great album. I've heard "Tara" before, but it didn't really make much of an impression on me at the time. This is the first album of theirs I bought though. These guys are just so incredibly bad-ass. I only have a couple minor complaints; I wish the bass was turned up in the mix a little bit, and sometimes the snare has a weird hollowing ringing sound to it, but otherwise, this album rips, pretty much start to finish. It's most righteous, I hope these guys get more exposure.

  • "These guys have had fast 'moments' on other albums"....clearly he hasn't listened to Tara

  • seeing em live in january :D

  • Bless you...
