Report from Honduras: Ousted President Manuel Zelaya Returns to Honduras in Defiance of Coup Government
We go live to the Brazilian embassy in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa, where Manuel Zelaya has sought refuge. After Zelayas dramatic return, the coup government ordered a curfew, but thousands of Zelaya supporters defied the ban and rallied outside the Brazilian embassy. Earlier this morning police fired tear gas outside the embassy to disburse the crowd. We hear Zelaya speak from inside the embassy and speak to Andres Conteris and Mark Weisbrot.

  • And NO, Brazil is NOT taking part in any "Bolivarian revolution" or acting like a puppet from Venezuela's government, you bunch of fools.

Now... do you really believe Brazil would by any chances give the Honduran democractically elected president to a military dictactorship that is not recognized by ONE SINGLE COUNTRY OR ORGANIZATION in this world?

If Brazil did such a stupid thing, then we'd be acting against the world's will.

Micheletti... just give up... you lost.

  • Yes, it was a military coup. If Zelaya didn't have the support of the representatives, why were the militaries so worried about him calling a referendum?

It sounds to me like fear of it being aproved, fear of what the MAJORITY could chose. Voices were shut. It was a MILITARY COUP.

Zelaya was democratically elected and illegaly overthrown. If Hondurans don't want him, why don't they show that in the next elections? What is their de facto government worried about?

  • Unlike Ecuador and Bolivia, Brazil is not best friends with Chavez but not enemies. Lula is a moderate socialist.

  • Another American living in the 60s... poor people, poor country.

  • the honduras real president,,,,THE BEST PRESIDENT WE HAVE HAD IN OUR HISTORY SINCE 1950

  • We need to make sure our Latin American brothers are getting enough protein, so their brains work well. Brazil seems OK, while China is now one of the more capitalistic. In the real word, Capitalism is superior, and you can not live on just rice and excessive naps. Now get to work

  • i sounds like a person without money? your generalization of what a socially conscious person is only displays your ignorance, having money and understanding economics are irrelevant. "conspire to steal"? just pathetic. no brains?

  • You sound like a person without money who wants someone to help him conspire to steal from others. Why don't you and a few amigo's pool your resources (ie capital) and start a business, offering goods or services to others? You get paid fees and a return on your risk capital? Too much work? no cajones?

  • Life is not fair, and you are a victim. Blah Blah Blah. Now get back to work! You probably have to pay your own way, unless you can find free lunch somewhere. Buena Suerte!
