I got hooked on this movie about 27 years ago when I was in college and one of the movie channels (Cinemax, I think) had it in heavy rotation. It's like an extended 1970s music video. I especially remember all the scenes of Geraldine Chaplin wandering around looking vague. Although the recording scenes are among the most unrealistic ever, unless perhaps you're Phil Spector, I still love this movie.
