Chapter 5
**Friday**
[Alyse sat back down next to Nick, trying not to notice his look of betrayal. Deanna sat next to her, and finally Bret pulled in his seat next to Deanna.]
A: Bret, this is everyone [She gestured around the table.] Everyone, this is Bret.
[Maggie and Joes new “friend,” Felicia, were the only two that welcomed Bret warmly. Alyse could fell the bad vibe coming from the Jonas boys. She decided to text Nick, instead of making a scene.]
A: Is it cold in here, or is it just the Jonas boys?
[Nick opened his phone, then closed it after a second. He looked up at Alyse.]
N: Are you serious? [He mouthed.]
A: Whats your problem? [She was equally silent.]
N: You really have to ask? [He got up and walked toward the bathroom. Alyse looked around at the wondering expressions on the others faces, shrugged, then followed him. She caught up to him before he could reach the safeties of the mens restroom and blocked his way.]
A: Nick, hes here as my friend, because this was supposed to be a dinner about me and my friends who are being congratulated on making the movie. Hes nothing more than a friend.
N: Right, cuz he totally wasnt enjoying that hug you gave him, at all. [His voice was thick with sarcasm; it made Alyse want to slap him. The boy could be so ignorant sometimes.]
A: So what? I didnt make him, so you cant be angry at me for it! The real reason I brought him here was to make sure he got over me, because I want him and Deanna to be together.
[Nick wrinkled his eyebrows, then he leaned to the side to get a better look at the table. Deanna and Bret were totally flirting. How did he miss that?]
N: Sorry. I just..I mean, you already ditched me for the guy once, I just didnt want it to happen again.
A: Its ok. [She reached up and hugged him, smiling to herself. Making Nick jealous wasnt really all that bad.] So, are you gonna call off your hounds?
N: Haha right, sorry [He pulled out his phone and texted Joe and Kevin. Then he led Alyse back to the table.
After dinner the guys dropped Alyse and Deanna off at Alyses, where they were spending the night. They changed into their pjs and put in a movie, 27 Dress, {AN-I freaking LOVE that movie } in the living room. They had the place to themselves because Alyses mom had taken Lauryn to a late movie. After a while the girls started talking cuz they had already seen the movie so many times.]
D: So what was up with all the guys? I mean as soon as Bret came they all looked uber pissed.
A: Yeah, apparently Nick still was mad about the time I ditched him for Bret, and all the other guys new about it. But I just explained that Bret was just a friend, so he was fine.
D: You mean he just bought it?
A: He didnt have to buy anything, it was true. [She pretended to be really interested in the movie, and Deanna dropped the subject. Alyse was relieved; she didnt want Deanna to know she was trying to set her & Bret up.]

**One week later**
*with the guys*
[Kevin closed his phone after reading a text from Maggie. Then he turned down the volume of the tv. Joe looked at him, surprised.]
J: Dude, thats the best part! [He dove for the remote, but Kevin hid it in the cushions of the couch.]
K: Chill out, I just want to talk to you for two seconds.
J: Ugh, fine. Go. [He stared at his watch, then looked up at Kevin impatiently.]
K: Maggie just had a great idea. We want to go bowling tomorrow, and we really liked Felicia, so you should bring her. Itll be like a double date.
J: Yeah, ok, Ill see what she thinks. Can you turn it back up now?

Joe-tude much?? hah.
so i just want to say that i'm sorry to anyone who read the last chapter & was disappointed that i didnt post yesterday, not that i know if you were disappointed, becuz no one said anything. It's not like i enjoy having people send me hate comments about "where's the chapter?!" but @ least it lets you know they like it and want more. & i dont mean to sound ungrateful, because i am so thankful to those of you who have subscribed and faithfully leave me comments, which i love to read. I'd also like to give a shout out to my first supporters, CHELSIE! (luv you girl!!) who taught me to "appreciate, like Nick Jonas said," & ELLE, who, although i dont get to talk to her half as much as i want to, inspired me to start this story in the first place.
so anyway, i just wanted to get that off my chest, and i decided to post tonight anyway. just because i'm not getting the feedback i want doesnt mean that i should punish anyone who does enjoy the story. & i'm trying so hard to not let it discourage me from writing.
PHEW! i feel better now :)
