Zenyatta punctuated both an undefeated season and the first-ever Ladies' Day championship program with an emphatic 1 1/2-length victory in the $1,832,000 Breeders Cup Ladies Classic (G1) on Friday at the Oak Tree meet at Santa Anita Park.

Jerry and Ann Mosss four-year-old Street Cry (Ire) filly swept wide around the far turn and had no problem disposing of seven opponents in the $2-million race. Cocoa Beach (Chi) rallied from the inside to be second with her Godolphin Stable stablemate Music Note another 1 1/2 lengths back in third.

  • Even caught 5 wide, Mike Smith literally hand rode Zenyatta right on by the entire Ladies Classic field!! No more than the 08' Ladies Classic took out of her. I really believe that John Shirreffs could've brought Zenyatta back out on the racetrack the very next day for the B.C. Classic!! Wouldn't that have totally mind fucked everyone!! For Zenyatta to have won the Ladies Classic on Friday. Then come out on Saturday and beaten Ravens Pass, Henrythenavigator, and Curlin in the Classic!! LOL.

  • @GBeret83 I agree. Even outside this race, she beat some nice fillies and mares throughout 2008, many other G1 winners, and some who became G1 winners after being defeated by her.
