Crews were dispatched to a reported house fire at 48th and Vermont, on arrival GFD found a house with fire blowing through the roof of a 25x40 frame single family dwelling. After knocking the fire down with a deck gun crews made an interior attack with multiple hand lines. It took some time to bring the fire under control and one firefighter suffered minor burns. • One thjing is for sure those deck gun they use on the engine a very effective

  • @mezpaz 1:31 for flashover

  • If people were only careful with cooking, smoking, Xmas trees, cleaning their lint traps on dryers, using appropriate cords on outlets, and using space heaters, Theyd never have to go through this. I think that covers all fire causes, except arson and lightning strikes. But other than Arson and lightning, all of the other fire causes can be prevented if you take the time to make sure you're safe. Also its a great idea to have a few ABC fire extinguishers so you can put a fire out yourself.

  • still waiting for the flashover...

Where I am from, we would have done an external attack, I mean the house was pretty much toast from the start. Why risk lives for something thats going to be demolished later anyways? Great video footage tho!

  • @camelot647 probably for that reason... unstable structure, defensive tactics only.

  • how come there was no interior attack. the roof is gone already self ventilated. get 2 hose teams in there and make a stop to it. good footage.

  • i listened to G.F.D. 24/7 on 154.19 mhz and fireground ch.2 especially late night as well. most calls happend @ night & early morning. good job guys..
