@phlipse90 Nice tracks! But they are all flat, i.e. in just 2 dimensions.... Also, this is actually quantum flux pinning, not Meissner effect. The Meissner effect pushes out all the magnetic field lines and therefore the superconductor is pushed away like if it was another magnet with opposite polarity (north-north or south-south). Then it could not follow the tracks. See a video of a levitating train in 3 dimensions using pinning here: moebius dot youtube dot mosem dot eu ;-)

Now I know, what I want for Christmas.

magnets... how do they work?
-
Robert De Niro is very uninterested in the background! lol

Einstein would disagree. Nothing with mass can reach the speed of light. F=ma no longer applies at relativistic speeds.

@theodor154 ..... while USA is playing with --- Toy Trains---..... China is using Maglev Transrapid System in Reality...
its time for USA to grow up... and start using Maglev Trains......& Electric CArs......

two magnets repelling each other due to the fact that they aint touching they can theoretically go at the speed of light but there is air friction which slows them down
-
They push it at the start and because there is virtually 0 friction it just keeps moving

yeah i think thats liquid nitrogen.. still fucking cool tho ay
