Title of this sacred song: MAHA JAYAMANGALA-GATHA (Great Verses of Joyous Victory). JAYAMANGALA-GATHA Paritta is the pali chanting that Maha Ghosananda loved so much. We always listened to this sacred song whenever we were on a trip. This is the paritta chanting I love most and the chanting that could keep me awake all night!

The Man with the Infectious Smile: His name is Maha Ghosananda, the Supreme Patriarch of Cambodian Buddhism, also known as "Gandhi of Cambodia."
No matter what type of situation you're coping once you see Maha Ghosananda you will forget everything. This Holy Man has a smile on his face 24/7, that unique and genuine smile that is very infectious, this smile can heal all kind of stress.

Putting together this slideshow makes me feel very painful. I just wanted to hide and cry, but Maha Ghosananda would rather see me smile...I miss him so much...

TRUTHFULNESS
FORBEARANCE
GRATITUDE

is the teaching the Holy Man wanted us to pass on...May all beings live in peace and happiness...

  • I wished my mother had told me who he is,at least just a little bit to know how important he is toward peace around the world, she just told me to drive somdach sonk to stockton temple, she told me to be good and be respectful of his holiness, she said i will recieve much blessing ;)

  • You are so lucky! Take good care of that car! One time my I had to cancel my trip to Canada because His Holiness was sick. I had to bring him to the Hospital. I remember that day so much. And the other time I had to drive him to the Provident Airport at 5:00 in the morning. I had a sport car also at that time. I had to squeeze him in that little car. I was so sleepy, because I only got to sleep for 1/2 an hour. I had many suvenir with him in my life.

  • Respect

  • In forgeting himself,Maha Ghosananda found himself. The contagious smiles,it had to be compfort in his own skin,no man can take away anything from him, because nothing belong to him...;))))))))

  • Smiles are for free,it cost nothing what so ever. But meant everything to those who recieved it....;))))))))))

  • I think i'll go donate some stuffs in his honor,i seek quality in life, not so much quantity these day....the end is drawing near,i have very little use for material things.

  • I think the word infectious should be replaced for contagious.

  • WTF!!!? this is shit wtf is this

  • I love at :53.....pope and buddhist.....so peaceful when different religion acknowledge one another. I love this song...anyone know the original singer?

  • jendhamuni thank you for sharing this with us...my dad use to be a monk back way before I was born..way back in time, he was born in 1933, around his 20s....this song will remind me of him also...I love you Maha Ghosananda...rip, and GOD bless you above and eternal lifetime!

  • Although cambodia has changed to adapt bhuddist religion more than hindusim but hindusin played a big role in our angkor temple architect, chantings, and apsaras dancers. Cambodia you are beautiful wo a doubt such a sacred country of mystery...yet to be found, discovered, and Re-born. But w all that being said...yes Ghandi is from india....Gaha is our Cambodian great one...our cambodian ghandi. Wish I had the chance to meet you. may GOD bless you above.

  • I thought I was in love with the gayatri mantra but this one melts my heart!! I wish I had a chance to meet this monk..if you see his name, it is of pali ir indian descent. Although the khmer empire is built from hindu religion and I know most cambodians are mixed breeds of india....and we are proud of that. =) My ancesters are indian that infused their religion and path onto cambodia....and it passed onto our loving country of cambodia.
