I live in Poland and heard that there are now these huge industrial pig farms but there is hardly any mention in the media about this issue and animal welfare. The typical Polish consumer has very little idea I think about the conditions of the pigs they eat for meat and there is no discussion that I know of about mass production methods for the supermarkets. In fact, in my local Tesco you cannot even buy organic eggs - they are all battery eggs!

These pigs are grossly overcrowded and many of them are emaciated. Yes, pigs die all the time, but leaving their carcasses in the pens propagates contagious diseases, as well as propagating opportunistic infections from unsanitary conditions. Carcasses should not be disposed of in slurry, and saying that 'some farmers do' does not make it okay.

The animal husbandry shown in this video is horrendous and this farm should be shut down.

was meinst du denn was wir hier essen ? Es ist nur eine frage der Zeit, bis wir hier die selbe Massenhaltung haben... Wir haben sie ja schon, nur das es noch vergleichsmäßig genügend "humane" Zuchtställe gibt .
