Down Avenue Winner of WBCN's 1985 Battle of the Bands is Boston. The Band members were Doms / Foote / Long / Pettigrew. Nice chaps in their day. Doms or Foote (Not the bass player) gave me a baseball card of my uncle Juan Pizarro when he played for the Chicago Cubs. I am eternally grateful. The cameraman with the star filter was called Gary.

  • The bass players name is don foote he is my dad

  • Where can i find their music? Why did they break up when they were near getting an RCA contract?

  • Where can i find this groups music? Why did they disappear after getting RCA contract?

  • @PatsTroll

Neither did I. How said. What all others doing these days?

  • @thebigphilshow

I was a big groupie with them back then......Boy Am I old.

  • Dave Doms (on keys) is still a good friend and now teaches at the Berklee School of Music. We did an LP's worth of original songs together in the 90s, some of which I may end up posting here. Dave is one of the most talented musicians I've ever met and can play everything from bass to keys to guitar to, well just name it. A real shame that Charles passed away too soon. "Would I Lie to You" is also a killer track.

  • Saw them at the Paradise in Boston a million years ago. Talented musicians with original songs. I have the vinyl LP. Don Foote (Bass Player) was my next door neighbor in Dobbs Ferry NY. (A million years ago)

  • This brings back memories! I was David Doms (bass player, singer & composer) girlfriend during the early incarnation of Down Avenue. Remembering when they won the 1985 WBCN's BBs and shared the stage with Till Tuesday. Dave said I was the inspiration for Time to Believe, the hit song that won them the gig. So much talent! They were awesome.
