I can't ever tell with R&B songs how much of the songwriting is the producer versus the singer.

To some extent, once producers start having a lot of creative input, the artist name becomes a brand with many people behind it.

Is this a Motown style arrangement whre you basically show up and sing? Does the producer take what you improv and direct additional takes?

thanks Tay! in my case I was provided the instrumental and then I came up with the melody and lyrics to it and sang a rough version. Then my vocal producer came in and made suggestions about tone and background vocals.

I dont know why i keep comparing you to Justin Bieber.. But i just can't really understand how he can be so famous and you can't? The beat i your songs sounds better, and in my opinion you have a better voice too. (not to hate on justin bieber, cause he sings well now that his voice is changed and all)...
