.Steve Pulliam was a great trombonist, arranger, and good friend. He had played with Buddy and Ella Johnson in the 50's, and was playing with Mon Rivera, and Kako, when he joined my group. He showed me how to write and score arrangements. He wrote most of the arrangements for the album, but not "MAMBO MAXIMS". I wrote that one and 'UP IN ALFRED'S PAD". And I still think his arrangements were much better than mine.I miss him.

Well what can I tell you. Dingwalls was a club in London that was central to the birth of acid jazz and huge rebirth of jazz and latin in the 1980s and 1990s. It was run by Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge. My Latin Soul is a killer latin album that is reverred by many in this scene as one of the best ever latin albums and yes Mambo Maxims is a killer tune - especially the trombone
