Queen Ifama, Black Achievement & Mr. Holipsism discuss being Afrikan-Centered or Amerikkkan-Centered and which should be used as a tool for the liberation of our people.
@MrHolipsism I think what TahruBliss is saying is, Koreans, Chinese, Japanese are all Asians. But they do not identify or operate as "Asians". As I'm sure you know, they have seperate cultures and identities, they even war with and undermine each other. Same with Indians, Pakistanis, etc. So Africans being nationalistic first, e.g. Nigerian, Kenyan, Ghanaian, etc, is not unique in the least. It's ugly. It's counter-productive. But it's reality.
@TahruBliss That's exactly what I was thinking as I listened to this. It would wonderful for Africans to have the collective thought as described in this clip but where on the planet do you see this existing? Nowhere b/c it's not realistic.
@TahruBliss Please explain that statement to me, Family. Because all of the groups you mentioned have a socio-economic & political infrastructure they control in their communities. Thank you in advance. ONE
@777Imhotep You hit the nail right on the head bruh.Another reason for our lack of cultural cohesion is the fact that black folks are constantly bombarded by negative images of themselves by this racist system and as as a result,it instilled low self confidence, mistrust, and self hate in a-lot of us.And also we are bombarded with white savior images in the media which makes a-lot of us look to whites as the savior.
A major reason for our lack of cohesion is the educational system, in history class our youth are Americanized by studying and reading all about Western Civilization, its culture, wars, beliefs, philosophy, rituals, everything. We need to a "program" that will move us from youth, we must not rely on the media which Brother Malcolm said is the "most dangerous weapon" to socialize our youth. The war is against the youth, teach them nation early, include economy, health, industry early on.
Holip, dude you kept hitting him with that cultural cohesion piece & he kept missing it. He then kept trying to create excuses to dance around it. If you don't have the cohesion, you have nothing. Folks love to say that, as if it is THE END OF THE DISCUSSION, when it is really the START of the discussion...but bringing about that cohesion is the tough work and unfortunately folks don't wanna do that tough work--hence the problem!!!
cannot count. Anyway, there's more to be said - this is not the space~right now - but hopefully it will pique the interest of a passer-by thirsting for the same Unity that we thirst for as well. Although there are definitely more steps to discuss, I trust The Universe will lead us in the right direction to do what is needed. Hotep
This is step one. And I'm sure that those reading know we can't strategize over the Internet - it's not practical. That is one of our obstacles: Learning (again) when to speak and when to be silent. That used to be second-nature but when you break down the family unit, these cornerstones eventually wither and fall away. Trust is also a MAJOR obstacle. We can surely thank the European for sowing the seed of distrust among our people. Ourstory documents the proof of such in ways we nearly
