Shows some early skeletal work on 4 Imperial Sector buildings (produced by GW). I discuss some modifications for the structure and some plans for finishing them for use with Games Workshop 40k games.

  • ...would these buildings work for 3.75" Star Wars figures?...thxs...

  • @SteveSabbai I don't think the scale would work. You would need 4" doors for your figures and that is larger than the wall sections on these buildings. Might have to scratch build your terrain. You might check out the Hirst Arts website for some ideas of how to model terrain for Star Wars. Look in his starship mold line for ideas. Good Luck.

  • what if you had a fairly large building (5 or 6 across) that had a small second floor around the side, but a huge rubble pile that would be build up enough to act as a second floor? Do you think it would work?

  • @miniwars123 I don't see why not. :) Saying that, the rubble pile will be pretty large. The maximum slope you can have on a hill is 45 degrees I think. So to get to the second floor, the base of the pile would be pretty wide. With some careful planning though, you have some great flat areas on it to allow models to ascend it. Neat idea.

  • @miniwars123 Cost is a relative topic. Depends on your budget. Saying that, I still stand by my comment that the Imperial Sector offers good value for money. :)

  • @Terranscapes It's not THAT expensive. If you buy one sector, then build it up and add a building every month or so, you'll have a good size city with only one chunk of money spent. Plus, you can use acrylics from a cheap art supply store/colored pray to paint them quick for cheap. Besides, it's really fun to build up a city adding all the bits and bobs you have lining your bits box.

  • These have given me some great ideas.

  • @MarneusAugustaCalgar You might be overly harsh on GW. The box is a truly big set filled to the brim with plastic. The casts are very clean and the diversity of pieces included is really quite high. It might be a little over the price most people would want to pay, but overall I think an Imperial Sector offers decent value for the money. :) I might drop a few skulls from the pieces rather than request a price drop to be honest.

  • @jimeronimo tricky on the door idea. Perhaps on the next project like this. ;)
