Excellent tutorial man! This is exactly what I have been looking for. I have been struggling to make my tracks without limiters but it seems near impossible to make them loud without it. You seem like a nice guy too.

good stuff thanks dude!

THANK YOU! Legendary tutorial.

@dpndt The "Utility" unit it totally different than the limiter. The Utility is used for gain adjustments, phasing, panning, stereo width, etc. The manual is your friend. Read it.

what is the difference between Limiter and Utility in Ableton ?! I've been watching other videos about mastering tracks and some use Limiter, while others use Utility!

@elnoumon How about using a Compressor plugin to keep the dynamics and to hold off the peaking ?

Hey. For some reason, my limiter won't even allow clipping on my master as soon as I put it out, so I can't adjust the setting to know how much it clips. While your loop was playing, your master would still clip despite your limiter being active (before you tinkered with the gain/ceiling.)
What gives? Thanks.
What am I doing wrong?
Extremely helpful tutorial. I was searching to solve the peaking issue and found your video. great work.
Is there a way to tackle the peaking issue without having an effect on the dynamic tone ?

@IbnSaeed That is one of the tradeoffs. I would only use this effect for things that peak occasionally. Otherwise you run the risk of "squashing" the sound.
