Second and final part on the Star Trek fan made movie. Made using model kits, no CGI. The alien is a 70's toy called Scorpio from Major Matt Mason. Alien ship is made in Adobe Photoshop and then made to move using a ripple filter in Premiere (pre CGI software for me). www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk for more info. Made in 1998. MCPS 5965, BPI 6271, PPL 6271.

  • very true....consitution class starships didnt have the ability to have saucer separation....that came later on. Otherwise,a good video for its time and available computer technology. TY for posting it.

  • @DraconusMajorus Thanks for your comments. Depends what Trekker you ask as well. I asked a Trek mate of mine who said some books say it can. Or perhaps I can say this was a prototype testing saucer sep for the first time :-) But it was fun making it and coming up with the ramming idea - a typical Trek thing.

  • not bad at all for an old fan made movie/show. look liked you had fun makeing it, and thats all that matters. keep it up.

will be doing my own soon with my kids, but not startrek, just space-ish stuff.

  • @1crazyfocker I wish you well with yours. Me and my kids made a Thunderbirds movie called Thunderkids - it's here on YT. Lots of fun, and I hope we caught the essence of that show too.

  • There seems to be an awful lot of debate in the comments regarding the saucer separation witnessed by the Constitution Class starship. The vessel was in fact designed to separate saucer. In the event of a catastrophic event, the entirety of the crew could be evacuated to the saucer section, and all hatches sealed. At this point a series of pre-installed explosive charges would detonate causing a one time only separation of saucer and hull.

  • Nice to see someone not relying on CGI. Good work, hope to see more of your stuff.

  • CHEESEY but in a good way

  • lol....so bad ,,, but so good

  • @Calvertfilm you can make it however you decided there has been books for everything

  • @si2foo Opinion seems divided on saucer sep depending what books you read. I'm not a Treker but I asked my mate who is, and he approved the idea. Goodness knows where he got his info from but from a book somewhere.

  • @Calvertfilm hmm by modern day standard it isn't very good but by the time it was made pretty well done although the consitiution couldn't split the saucer
