Similarities: National Organization for Marriage ( NOM )'s ad & KKK imagery used to promote antisemitism, anti-Catholicism, and nativism.

  • So KKK means?

  • Ku Klux Klan

  • David Visan: Buddha Bar IV Track 01-Karma (extended Mix)

    Artist: Outsized

  • Of course not. I'm suggesting that there are similarities in the images and messages that are used as tools for provoking fear of and eventually hatred toward a minority, in whatever flavor that defines the minority, be it religion or sexuality. I was also hinting at the irony that Catholics, who have historically been viciously demeaned here in the US, are using not dissimilar demeaning messages toward others. I think these observations hold regardless of ones views toward SSM.

  • It's not bad, and I know -I- get it, but I feel it could have been better executed though if you'd used KKK propaganda which aligned more closely with what the people in the film were saying. I mean, they are remarkably similar in a lot of ways.

  • I absolutely agree. My first video ever (made or posted), so hopefully they'll get better. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

  • i dont get it. why does the kkk hate rome? the roman empire was the best white civilization of its time. the romans own the kkk

  • great video. powerful factual views and points on how the right work. using fear is what they do to get their evil ways. we r much smarter than that and they r losing and know it. GOD wont let these righties win this war. kudos.

  • Ironically the uniform has its origins in Catholicism, while the Ku Klux Klan is an anti-Catholic organisation.

  • @aeroldoth

That is frightening, anyone whose mind is so crippled by superstition to the point where they believe that a group of individuals with an innocuous trait is more dangerous than a group that is ipso facto dangerous should not even be a politician.

  • Any so-called "doctor" who even contemplates whether or not to put their profession or faith first should not even be a doctor in the first place. As a doctor you have a duty to your patient, and shouldn't be a scumbag if a gay person wants to visit his partner at the hospital.

  • Another cardinal said gays shouldn't set foot in the Vatican. After all, if those cool muslims won't let gays into their Mecca, well, the Catholics can't be shown up ! They have to bar gays too !

A US politician said she thought gays were a bigger threat and more dangerous to the US than terrorists. Than TERRORISTS !!!

Golly, I just love religion so.

  • With all due respect, why on earth would you expect the Church to change? Their bigotry and prejudice are built into their theology, and will remain as long as the religion remains.

  • great video

  • In contrast, the Quakers in the UK just made gay marriage legal in their sect. The largest Lutheran church in the US now legalized monogamous gay relationships to the point where such gays can serve as clergy -- no more ridiculous celibacy requirement. The Episcopal Church has also made great strides forward. The Mormons have fund-raising down and the Catholics are being played. Personally, I'd like to see the American church separate from the Vatican and stop behaving so hypocritically.

  • Roman Catholicism was hand-in-hand with the Mormons in California to get Proposition 8 passed, too. That 12 page propaganda booklet included fear-mongering lies like "gays do violence to children" by raising them, apparently because they're the same gender which "stunts their growth". It says gays should be quarantined from kids by relatives, too. Just because Catholicism is popular doesn't mean it's not a hate group. As a former Catholic, I am very disappointed that it hasn't improved.
