Rick G. Kulkarni, MD, Attending Physician, Medical Director, Adult Emergency Department, Yale-New Haven Hospital, describes how to improve emergency department function. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/566882
Nice rhetoric doc. I hope this is not another marketing strategy for hospitals to pay you enormous amounts of money achieving nothing. My suggestion is, instead of "increasing efficiency" by decreasing the amount of time from triage to admission, why not make the fast track or "quick care" area open 24/7? after all, more than half the "emergency" cases that come to the ER doorstep are clinic cases. Doesn't that contribute to overcrowding as well?
