Criminal Minds 3x02 "In Birth and Death"

This is Jason Gideon(Mandy Patinkin)'s last episode on the show. When he didn't show up for a case, Reid comes looking for him in his cabin in the woods only to find a goodbye letter addressed to him. In the next episode (3x03 Scared to Death), we learn that he leaves it specifically to Spencer since Gideon feels he'd be another "father figure" walking out on him.

I just love Gideon and Reid relationship. They were like father and son. It was amazing. I cannot believe that Gideon left but at least he left somehow a letter to Reid. It was such a touching scene.

I just keep thinking that gideon or elle might show up in a future episode either as a murder victim or a cameo. i can keep hoping.

My favorite characters were Reid and Gideon. I support Mandy Patinkin's decision though to leave cause he doesn't believe in violence on tv. It would be really cool though if he made an appearance in an episode or two, but I don't blame him if hes not interested. I like Rossi a lot, but hes no Gideon. lol.
