Animal rescuers, called in by the Holmes County, FL Sheriffs Department, found a shocking case of horse abuse. Three horses were found dead from starvation. The four remaining horses, still clinging to life, were taken to foster homes where they will be fed and cared for until they are adopted. The owners of the horses were charged with animal cruelty and could face up to a year in jail.

Thank you for your comments. There is currently some movement in the local Sheriffs dept. toward greater cooperation with horse rescue groups. Wth luck this may save more equine lives.
