Here are some more ads taken from WGN in April 1993. They feature:

1. WGN Presents (Night Mother with Sissy Spacek).
2. WGN Presents outro bumper (promoting the next featured movie, Strapless).
3. WGN TV-Chicago bumper.
4. Ultra Downey fabric softener.
5. Comet bathroom cleaner spray.
6. Tetley tea bags.
7. Hallmark cards.
8. Keebler Chacho's tortilla chips (I then edited bad and left in a tiny bit of Designing Women).
9. Kraft cheese Singles.
10. Ivory Clear dish detergent.
11. Care relief services.
12. Tom Raper's RV shop.
13. Antique Village museum.
14. Another WGN TV-Chicago bumper (and another sloppy edit, since I thought the ads had ended).
15. Spot for the Chicago Cubs featuring then-catcher Rick Wilkins thinking about his big-league debut (and another bit of sloppy editing).
16. L'Oreal Casting hair color and toner.
17. Spot for Messenger of Death with Charles Bronson.
18. Fleet Card (you saw this in part one).
19. Tile Outlet in Chicago.
20. The Road to the Threepeat (for the 1992-93 Chicago Bulls) spot.
21. Those Rockin' 70s cd/cassette spot (and boy is it long; it takes up the rest of the time!).

Enjoy!

  • Funny you mentioned your sloppy edit. There's a very quick shot of Shelley Long there, which leads me to think that Rick Wilkins commercial aired on the national feed to cover a Cheers promo on the local (back then, Cheers aired only on the local feed). It was MUCH more common then to see Chicago-area ads/promos that only should have aired locally slip through to the superstation than it is now. Almost never happens anymore.

  • Just three blocks west of the Kennedy Expressway!

  • I hope one of these WGN '93 commercials is a PSA I've been trying to find:It promots changing smoke detector batteries! It usually appeared after the 9 0'Clock News' first or second commercial break! on WGN!

  • @earlymid90schild whoops! Sorry hon!

  • @jwgreek8606 Definitely (I'm a girl, though, haha)

  • Superstation (we live in Detroit).

  • @earlymid90schild yeah man. I am a kid again too

  • was this from the Superstation Feed or the local feed?
