  • Lots of moving parts there.. not sure it is a replacement design, but maybe good for some applications? Looks like lots of seal maintenance.

  • Twice as far? Really?

  • @woollfen it looks like the stems or shafts will have to be drilled for oil distribution, then so forth with the iris "iris" shutters. This engine got an award by NASA in 2008. I will have to agree with ContemporaryScience about the bold claims. More info!!
