what no roosters? do you get the chickens from organic breeders? maybe your methods is free range, but what happens to the chicken after the egg laying period? I have free range chickens with roosters and we can leave the fertilized eggs to hatch and take only the non fertile eggs ( yes the chicken lays eggs without the rooster, but even in a clutch of eggs...there are unfertile eggs) and our hens grow happy , old and still work as our bug patrol!

So if the eggs are never fertilized then there are no baby chicks hatching? Also, are oyster shells still feed to the chickens? Is there any other animal products feed to them? Thanks:)
