  • @murph3pt: In the case of a closed pneumothorax, the goal is to remove the air/blood from the chest cavity, usually using a specialized needle stabbed through the 2nd intercostal space. The risk of puncturing an artery/inflicting more lung damage makes this procedure something only a doctor should do, unless under the most dire of circumstances (i.e camping in the wilderness)

  • this dosnt say what to do in case of a closed wound.

  • I had a spontaneous pnumothorax 90% collapse the pain was indescribable

  • @gleof06 mate im not a paramedic or anything but if there not breathing i think you would have to perform CPR otherwise there going to die anyway??

  • How to treat a mustache.

  • A soon as you have determined they have no pulse (lay rescuer) start compressions immediately. Remember it is common to break ribs doing CPR any way. Keeping blood circulating to the brain and other organs is the most important thing. Like any other wound (assuming its open) having someone putting pressure on it while you are doing CPR is an even more productive way care for the patient.

  • if the patient gets unconscious. no pulse and not breathing,,can we do CPR or not?? tnx

  • @sativa4821 A single lung hit and they'll be OK. Just keep them upright with calm breathing and address the wound. However a double lung hit and there's nothing you can do. He'll be dead by the time you start treating him.

  • i wish we would mention how long these injuries would take to cause death ecspecially on the major wounds

  • It would have been a little better if he actually would have done the treatment on a dummy or something. Just to see it. But cool vid though. Very informal
