  • Please give me the definition of Power, Strength and Conditioning... This training session isn't about Power, if it was we would be doing Olympic Lifts or some sort of ballistic exercise done for 4-6 reps. This training session isn't a Strength session either, if it was we would be under a moving a load that could lifted for 1-3 reps. This training session would be considered more Strength Endurance. My goal is not to increase his VO2 Max it is to increase his Lactate Threshold/ Tolerance.

  • pretty pathetic conditioning routine. sure its tiring, u do any movement with weights enough and ull get tired. the jumps are pretty much the most challenging part of this. No wonder the guy is so winded after this, hes probably in horrible shape for endurance. try a 3 to five mile run for conditioning or a routine that lasts longer than 30 minutes (the time he would spend repeating this about 10 times) this isnt a conditioning workout, its power and strength, muscle building workout.

  • @usmc40 A 3-5 mile run has no carry over to MMA or any other combat sport for that matter. Horrible shape? You can't do something like that if you're in horrible shape... Do me a favor, run 3-5 miles one day and then perform this exact same training session 3-4X another day and tell me what's more effective. Do you have any clue what power and strength are? What are your credentials to make such ridiculous comments?

  • @ImpackTotalFitness 2nd, I'm a personal trainer. (Ive never been in the usmc as my name might suggest, I made my YouTube account before I atried to join an was rejected for medical reasons) I do go for a 3-5 mile run and do this type of training. As my comment said, I just don't believe this is a good conditioning workout. For power and strength, its great. Also, a fighter who can run 3-5 miles and does will go a lot longer in the cage than a fighter who can't and doesn't. That's the carryover.

  • @usmc40 There is no carry over from a 3-5 mile run to an MMA or combat athlete! It's the wrong energy system, you need to get back in your books. No offense but don't let schooling get in the way of your education. Who are you studying? I can make some suggestions...

  • Because I'm training an MMA fighter... It would be fine for any population or athlete that's looking for serious results.

  • this lad really wants a pint

  • this is actually the best way to train fight conditioning. running miles and bench press will get you know where silly keyboard warriors

  • LOOOL i bet he got TKOD in his first fight haha what a silly training

  • you have so much nice stuff. do you have videos of exercises with normal weights?

  • i see alot of arguements here. best training? get in the ring more

  • ..i agree with @usmc40 , running dont rly help when your fighting i trained at cage rage . with a guy who had been doing half marathons to try to get into fighting shape he quoted it didnt help him at all . punching ,kicking, clinching, drains you totally different to what running does . my best instructer said . runners run fighters fight .simples do mixed rounds 3 mins sparring, 3 mins circuit, 3 mins plyometrics, 3 mins grapple ,3 mins pad work , break start again

  • @usmc40 um jogging/running for a consistent 3 miles sin't the same type of conditioning as continues high intensity, heartbeat-raising, sprint/agility training, the latter of which is what's important in MMA training

  • beast

  • Hey Impacktotalfitness, wondering if you guys ever thought about tying a rope to those tires and pulling them down the street/grass or doing the same thing and just punching? :) Just a thought. Good vid

  • @usmc40 Lol everyone on youtube is a personal trainer and knows all the right things to do to train an MMA fighter.
