I got the Fantom G on Friday and threw together this as a practise project. Used preset sounds with some minor tweaking. A somewhat updated version: http://kiekko.tk/q/airwolf.mp3

I routed all instruments through a Super Filter MFX to do some kind of fade in/out, but didn't find a way to automate this, so I've done it in real time here.

The melody probably isn't 100% right. It's mostly based on listening to the Commodore 64 game tune a long time ago. I never actually saw the series. It seems the TV show and C64 melodies differ a bit.

  • The doppler effect is way too strong, made with pitch bender and a slider assigned to pan. It's slightly better on the mp3.

  • Yay, it is indeed possible to record cutoff of the MFX Super Filter: press MENU, click SYSTEM, go to MIDI, enable Transmit Edit Data. Click Sys Write.

Then the Fantom G will transmit SysEx MIDI messages when you turn the filter knobs, which you can then record. Just adjust the cutoff or whatever while you're recording a track.

  • @harley0husky had the same problem, the fantom driver may not be compatable with your copy of os x or windows so id advise you to go back to the site n make sure you have the rite one. i tell ya what tho once you sort it out its wkd! you can use the fantom as your 24bit sound card to play back or record with reason, logic, cubase etc and it sounds mint. good luck with it all bro.

  • the original theme was played in studio with a Fairlight

  • You done a great job with this track your talented

  • does anyone know a cheap possability which has this airwolf melody sound onboard?this kind of "wah"tone or whatever it is?

  • this sound it`s a sound from a movie...i know this....godd job man :X:X:

  • wow how did you get that helicopter sound at the begging? sounds real cool man! good job :)

  • Man that was also very cool! It would be fantastic if you do Tangerine Dreams' one for "Street Hawk"

  • Having watched Airwolf as a kid, and not really remembering the C64 version, I can say you did a damn fine job of reminding me of that series with this.

Now I kind of want to go hunt down episodes and watch again. :)

  • Very nice track, good selection of patches. I don't blame you for using presets here, the Fantom simply has so much to offer.

  • very good man.......................yeah
