Vox V847, highly modified, all stock resistors were changed to carbon comp, stock inductor was changed for Whipple halo inductor, stock trans were changed for NOS BC109B's, stock 0,01uF caps were changed for vintage tropical fish, stock 0,22uF were changed for Xicon Greenees (Film), stock 4,7uF cap was changed for original 4,0uF used in early 70's Vox wahs and stock pot was changed for 100K Icar Taper. Changed to true bypass. Playing through 18W Marshall clone and Stratocaster neck pickup (Lindy Fralin Woodstock 69 PU's). Forgive sloopy playing...

  • Kde sis nechal dělat to kombo? u koho?

  • Součástky jsem koupil z US. Do fungujícího stavu mě to potom složil Dušan Zeman.

  • What do you think about the Fralin Woodstock 69 ?

  • Well, I am pretty impressed with them. I tried also Fender custom shop 69, but Fralin suits me more. I think they sounds more vintage like. I also changed the pots and capacitor from stock to 250k pots and NOS 0.1 mfd - the same as in 60's. Unfortunately I haven't tried other Fralin PU's so I can't compare to others. Because of their price I was worried if they will be OK, but it's worth buying them.

  • For the moment, my MIM strat is loaded with Lace Sensor Hot Gold , 250k pots (master tone) and a Sprague PIO .02mF cap. It doesn't suit me well so I think (before changing the pickups) I'll probably put a Luxe Cap .1mF and a Orange Drop .048mF cap, that I could switch, choosing the one a prefer with a mini switch. I'll add a treble bleed and 3 news CTS pots. I'll post videos. For the moment I find my strat a little too "thin" and trebly compared to my other strat with a shitty 0.48mF cap :)

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. First I had .02mF, than .05mF and now .1 which suits me the most - because I prefer thick tone - and there is some difference after changing to .1mF. Let me know when you post video.

  • The modified wah sounds great! I'm about to do the same thing to a v847 and hope to get some tips from you :)
