I have the London Calling DVD set and he says right before he sings that that song was written by STEPHEN FOSTER in1855. Don't you dare tell me or any other REAL Boss fan that he doesn't know music.

Great song

Stephen Foster must be rolling around in his grave. This rendition of a great song sucks. Bruce Springsteen should be ashamed not to get his facts right about the song, especially the composer's name. SHAME ON YOU!! Blowing your nose on stage...what the hell is wrong with you?
-
I still get a tear in the eyes when I see the Big Man!
-
Bruce is unique! No one sings with so much heart and soul!
Go, Bruce, go!
-
Maybe he meant to say that since this should be the national anthem.
-
Bruce not only covers the songs, he improves them. A true Artist this man, can't wait for him to sing Hallelujah one day. In Bern most preferrably. Thanks a lot for posting this great vid.

Strange, he said Stephen Foster in Stockholm too. Must've been some temporary confusion in this clip.
-
you guys are all wrong. this song wasd written by F Scott Fitzgerald when he was a teenager

blowing his nose into his hand ??? ICK !!!
Bruce says it's written by "Francis Scott Key"!!! LOL.
OOPS! Sorry, Bruce, it's written by Stepen C. Foster in 1854. Key of course wrote the Star Spangled Banner in 1814, and died before Foster wrote "Hard Times."
