Verse 1 (0:15)
Travelling in a fried out kombie
On a hippy trail head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast, and she said

Chorus 1 (0:34)
Do you come from a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant ya hear can ya hear the thunder
You better run, you better take cover

Verse 2 (1:03)
Buying bread from a man in Brussels,
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said do you speak my language?
He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich, and he said

Chorus 2 (1:23)
I come from a land down under,
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Cant you hear cant you hear the thunder?
You better run you better take cover

Verse 3 (2:02)
Lying in a den in Bombay,
With a slackjaw and not much to say.
I said to the man "Are you trying to tempt me?
Because I come from the land of plenty." and he said

Chorus 1 (2:21)
Do you come from a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant ya hear can ya hear the thunder
You better run, you better take cover
Livin in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant ya hear can ya hear the thunder
You better run, you better take cover

Enjoy

  • No problem, thanks for the comment!!!

  • very helpful with the strum pattern, thanks so much Mate!! Best to You!!

  • Thanks

  • Hey dude, check out itunes for the Colin Hay acoustic version of this tune. The tab is available online. The tab for the verse shows Am - G - Am - F - G. For the chorus, try: C - G - Am - G - F. Also, the Colin Hay acoustic version has more of a Rasta / Ska / Jamaican tempo. I'm currently trying to figure out the flute part on guitar. Thanx for your post.

  • Yeah that is what I played apart from the G F around the other way. I know the version you are talking about, that is what I based my version on.
