'80s Ad Breaks Vol. 2 - November 1986

The last commercial break from "Knots Landing," aired Nov. 6, 1986, on KDFW-TV (CBS, Dallas-Fort Worth), along with one aired directly before the next show, "Kay O'Brien." The final break here is from the episode of "Moonlighting" aired the preceding Tuesday, Nov. 4, which was Election Day; no local ads here, but it was presumably WFAA-TV.

1. Colgate Tartar Control Formula toothpaste (OMG! Little construction workers building a tartar wall in my mouth! Thank God for TC-3!)
2. Tough Act bathroom cleaner (Lord, these ads were creepy)

5. CBS miniseries "Fresno" (A parody of various prime-time soap operas, starring Carol Burnett and Dabney Coleman!)
6. Next time on "Knots Landing" preview, followed by show credits

Break 2:
7. CBS Monday - "Kate & Allie" and "My Sister Sam"
8. Channel 4 News ad touting election coverage by Clarice Tinsley, Steve Bosh and the news team - this was 2 days after the election!
9. Channel 4 News promo - Steve Bosh previews reports on the border war, a proposed dress code for Dallas cabbies, and the Cowboys' preparations for the Raiders.
10. Sega Master System
11. T.J. Maxx grand openings in Carrollton and Mesquite
12. KDFW promo card for "The All-New Dating Game"

Break 3:
13. Ford Escort
14. Extra-Strength Tylenol (Johan Morrison tells us how making decisions on running a restaurant is TOTALLY like choosing over-the-counter pain relief.)
15. "Tai-Pan" (The first major motion picture filmed in China! Vol. 1 has another ad for this film.)
16. ABC News Brief with Peter Jennings giving congressional election results
17. Peach Riunite (Catchy tune, but the visuals are a little questionable)
18. Rest of ABC News Brief (extended election coverage starts in 45 minutes)
19. ABC Wednesday: "Perfect Strangers" and "Head of the Class"

@Retrotv This tape had a little bit from the middle of a Dallas episode, but not enough even for an ad break or credits. Aside from that, I don't think I've seen any of those shows in my collection, but I'll keep an eye out!
