Hi David,
You used a ball-caster for all the 2-wheel robots in your book. What I wanna ask is, is it better than a swiveling wheel in maintaining its position when turning? Does it have alot of friction on it because the NXT brick and motors are kinda heavy...

Idler81643,
A ball caster is, generally speaking, more effective than a swiveling wheel. When the robot makes a turn, the ball caster does help the robot to maintain its position better because the ball itself stays in the same position. This being the case, I believe friction would also be less than a swiveling wheel.
Thanks,

good job anyway, or is this real easy to built with a kit or something?

quicktiz,
You can build this robot from the pieces in one LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT set and by following the instructions found in Chapter 13 of my book "The Unofficial LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Inventor's Guide."

Is that all it does is push, but otherwise cool

Hi Killer95001,
While Claw-Bot's goal is to push objects off the test pad, the robot is actually doing much more than simply pushing. Claw-Bot actively searches for objects using an ultrasonic sensor, and it also detects the black line with a light sensor. Getting the robot to accomplish these tasks is harder than it sounds, and the robot's program tells it how to do this.
Thanks!
