The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and Malta, better known as the Sovereign Order of Malta, has a two-fold nature. It is one of the most ancient religious Catholic Orders, founded in Jerusalem in around 1048. It celebrated the 9th centennial of its official foundation in 1999. At the same time it has always been recognised by nations as an independent subject of international law.
Thank you for this video. Now I understand it better.

@boisgris Absolutely true. My father was member of the Order of Malta, as I am myself, and we have no "noble" title. Same thing for Freemasonry!

@pimps1nc : actually, it is not true that only noble people can be "invited". Moreover, it's not at all an invitation but a commitment. Otherwise it would be indeed a matter of ego and would be pretty ridiculous.

Funny how actual members seem to be proud of the fact that people can only be invited unless of 'noble' birth.
This for me is more then enough reason to never want to join such an orginization which is not based on equal rights but the domination of an upper class.
Whatever happened to the vow of poverty. I think the king james mason bible even says that its easier for a camel to go thourgh a needle then a rich man going to heaven.
And throw away any individualism... dont u mean EGO
