Our Non-Formal Education Program provides basic education, vocational training and life skills to sex workers and their children in order to help them find better opportunities or prepare for formal schooling (in the case of children). This class takes place 5 days a week in Trolok Baik, a notorious red light area in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Most of these women and girls are learning to read and write for the first time. Notice the children standing in the doorway reciting the alphabet even though they are not part of the class. Education is so valuable to these women and children and is something so many of us take for granted.
