Turn 5 is a much earlier apex than that. A nicely balanced car (like you've got in the Porsche) should be apexing at or just before the red berm. That banking is much steeper than it looks in the car, and really picks up after the red hump. If you apex that early the car will want to wash out in the middle of the corner but you need to have faith that it will regain traction on the banking.

Vielen dank! I'll be heading down for the first time in a few weeks and this has been very helpful.

VERY well done video sir! Major kudos and thanks for taking the time to put together an excellent lesson.

Thank you for letting me know about iracing. I have found it very helpful in learning to drive at Laguna Seca and Infineon. It really requires trmendous concentration.

Chris: What simulator do you use and would you recommend? Thank you.
Ah, one of my FAVORITE topics !
IMHO the best SIMULATOR out there is iracing com.
The most FUN I have with "GT Legends" and "GTR2". These two don't have Laguna Seca included but there is a big community around these games and tracks can easily be downloaded (for free) and added to the game

Thank you very much for your excellent video. I learned a great deal from your instructions and cautions. Do you ever offer instruction at Laguna Seca, Infineon or Thunderhill?

too much honor, I am just a rookie just like you - I have so far about 200 REAL laps and 5000+ simulated laps in Laguna. I am in no way an instructor, just wanted to share some of my lessons learned. But am VERY happy that the many hours it took me to put the videos together are liked :-)
