Sailor - Terry Harrison

This is my interpretation of a great old song that was first recorded by the Austrian singer "Lolita" in 1961. When I heard that she had passed away last year I started thinking about this song again. I looked at youtube and found several great cover versions there. The two that caught my attention the most were from my new youtube friends, Oz Malo (50maz) and Jan (weeyin1155). Be sure to check out their versions. I was a bit leary of covering this song since it has usually been sung by female singers. Then I did a bit of research...I found that the Austrian singer Freddy Quinn had a pretty decent hit with this song in the mid 60's. I also found that there are over 54,000 female Sailors in the US Navy alone. With that in mind I am certain that there lots of guys writing, emailing, calling and skyping sentiments just like the ones expressed in this song to their "Sailors". So here is my attempt at "Sailor" I hope that some of you will like it.

@ginmillsinger Sounds like I probably shouldn't rock the boat, ha. When I view my videos on "My Videos" page about 95% of them have the words "matched third party content" after them. So I guess I am lucky that they have left them all up at this point. Between the song writers, the publishing companies, the record labels, and the creators of the backing tracks that I use they might just have me shot as an example. Still....It would be nice to figure some way to make a buck or two, ha....Terry

If you're accepted, as a You Tube 'Partner' your video's will get 'promoted,' and you'll be financially compensated. There's one other way to make money on You Tube. It's called; 'Monetization.' The only 'hitch' is, you must get permission, from the copyright owner, 'if' you sing 'their' song's. Many song's aren't actively 'protected.' Some folk's, open separate channel's, with song's that are in the public domain, original's, or have permission. There's nothing to lose. :c)

That's it! It's a magic microphone! Why didn't I think of that? It makes perfect sense - how else could a person sing all these great songs so effortlessly and so perfectly?
