Mayor Nagin delivered his annual progress report to the City on May 28, 2008, with the River as his backdrop. His fourth annual State of the City Address was held at the Port of New Orleans Cruise Terminal. Mayor Nagin reminded us just how far we'd come since August 2005, and said:

"We are here, close to the Mississippi, in order to be reminded of where we have come from, to be reminded of the can-do spirit that's in our genes.

The river contains much of our past, present, and future.

Like the river, we have come a long way.

Ladies and Gentleman, we are Reinventing Ourselves in Recovery."

  • I noticed he thanked that miracle group.... "these committed New Orleaners flew back into the city just 30 days after the storm and led the foundation, THE FOUNDATION, for our rebuilding and recovery...."

Are you fucking kidding me? Flew BACK in AFTER 30 days.....so I guess the thousands of first responders from all over the nation get no credit for laying THE FOUNDATION for the recovery.....this stupid bastard didn't even mention them.

But ALL the credit goes to these great people
