  • anybody know what the shoulder rests are?

  • I´m afraid DVD works only in American system players? I once bought a nice Jean-Luc Ponty live at Montreaux and my european dvd-player couldn´t play it

  • It should play as it was replicated with ONYX out of London

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I hope lots of people see it and buy the DVD because it's so worth it!!! I got it about a week ago and I've been watching it a lot. I really really really love it. James is so amazing (as always) - the repertoire is so much fun to listen to - and it was filmed *so* beautifully, to boot. In fact I think the footage of the violins is worth the purchase price alone. Highly recommended for anybody who is interested in the violin. :)

  • This guy is hot and talented!! :)

  • Does anyone know what the second and third pieces he played are called? Or who they're by?

  • THIS WAS THE HUGUETTE CLARK STRADIVARIUS! THE VIRGIN.

    BRILLIANT!!

  • damn damn damn, one of the best living violinists today!!!

  • @TomQuags93 That's Bazzini - Le Ronde des Lutins

  • I love the history of this violin! The Stradivarius "La Pucelle" it has a carving of Joan of Arc on it's tailpiece. It was never played since it's creation in 1709's beginning of Stradivari's golden period. Until it was sold in 2001. The story of it's owner is what facinates me. Sad story but very interesting. Huguette Clark. Actually Clark County Nevada was named after her father!

  • Does anyone know the piece he is playing at 3:46? absolutely brilliant .

  • @azn32100 The piece is Edward Elgar's Salut D'amour (LOve's Greeting).

  • @BearMtl: Sorry!!! Maybe I should have said the sound of the Stradivarius is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard in my life; and to have the violin played by a master like Ehnes was a privilege and immense treat for me to experience; I didn't word that post right.

  • @phyllisloewen Are you serious?! You dare compare this brilliant violonist (Ehnes) to one of the worst "fiddle player" in the world? Please...open your ears!

  • Just saw James in concert tonight and he is absolutely on the same level of playing with Andre Rieu... what an amazing concert!
