Gerry Cohn moved to Carrboro city limits just over a year ago, leaving behind a 28 acre farm. Wanting to build up soil in a new location, he began composting. He found a posting on a listserve looking for parties interested in collecting compost from UNC-Chapel Hill's Global Cup Cafe. He now makes weekly runs to collect up to twenty buckets a week of coffee grinds and other compostable items from the Global Cup, the Daily Grind, and Caribou Coffee.
